Dr. Michael Stadtmauer is a Naturopathic Physician and Licensed Acupuncturist with over 10 years of clinical experience. Practicing both Eastern and Western natural medicine allows him to use the best of both worlds to treat the individual needs of his patients. His focus is on an exciting and emerging form of medicine known as “Functional Medicine”. Functional Medicine looks at the body as a whole unit with all parts affecting and interacting with all other parts, instead of the more compartmentalized view of the body that dominates medicine today. Functional medicine understands that, for instance, the hormones released by the gut in response to a food allergen will travel to the brain and affect behavior. As a practitioner of Functional Medicine, Dr. Stadtmauer places a very large emphasis on laboratory testing to identify underlying causes of a condition and patient education to help his patients take charge of their own health and wellbeing.

Dr. Stadtmauer is able to assist with any acute or chronic condition, but has a Special Focus on Gastro-Intestinal Issues (such as IBS, Constipation, Colitis, etc), Thyroid and/or Adrenal Dysfunction, Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue, Auto-Immune Conditions, Adjunctive Cancer Care, and Fertility Issues. Dr. Stadtmauer is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Agriculture and Life Science. While there, he served for 4 years as a volunteer on the UVM Rescue Squad. After University, Dr. Stadtmauer attended and graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, and has been in private practice ever since. He also worked for years as a classroom instructor and Clinic Director for the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine in North Carolina, where he recently relocated from.
